How To Win In 2020

As Americans process the results of the 2018 midterm elections, two competing narratives have broken out. Republicans state that the midterms show President Trump’s continued draw and pull; Democrats state that the midterms show America’s new appetite for progressivism.

Among Republicans, the conventional wisdom seems to be that President Trump has a certain electoral magic. Trump himself mirrors that perspective: the day after the election, he took to the podium to slam Republicans who hadn’t associated themselves with him closely enough. He chortled, “They did very poorly. I’m not sure that I should be happy or sad, but I feel just fine about it.” Trump, according to both Trump and many of his allies, was the only man standing between Republicans and absolute doom….

Trump Turns His Attention To His Own Political Survival

With the midterms behind him, Trump dives into a reelection campaign facing a Democratic House, political gridlock — and special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.

As president Donald Trump absorbed Tuesday night’s mixed election returns, two key allies were by his side in the White House: one of his 2016 campaign managers, Corey Lewandowski, and the man who will run his 2020 reelection bid, Brad Parscale.

The two men attended what the White House billed as a midterm watch party. But the presence of Lewandowski and Parscale underscored that it may have more accurately been described as the unofficial kickoff of Trump’s 2020 campaign. As guests snacked on hamburgers and hot dogs, the president was surrounded not just by the political aides who will orchestrate the effort but also by some of the donors expected to underwrite it, including Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, and fracking billionaire Harold Hamm….

What The Midterms Mean

The Most Important Election of our Lifetime™ may be a referendum on Trump, Kavanaugh, #metoo, migrant caravans, or any number of manufactured outrages since the 2016 presidential election. It will not be a referendum on foreign policy, the Federal Reserve, debt, spending entitlements, spying, civil liberties, or anything important with regard to state power.

By any objective measure, the ideological and policy disagreements between the national Democrat and Republican parties are not significant. Both accept the central tenets of domestic and foreign interventionism, both accept the federal government as the chief organizing principle for American society, and both view politics simply as a fight for control of state apparatus….

The Democratic Party Is Working To Destroy The American Way Of Life

At this moment in history, the Democratic Party belongs to those who hate our institutions, hate the limits of our system of government, and hate America’s way of life.

Hillary Clinton is right. We cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what America stands for. She’s right that we must fight against politicians and activists who degrade the rule of law, seek to delegitimize our elections, spread corruption, attack truth and reason, and try to undermine our national unity. A defiant, defensive, and dystopian political party must be met with determined aggression, not niceties. But she’s living in upside-down world if she believes that’s the Republican Party.

Two years into Donald Trump’s presidency, there is no question the Democratic Party is on the side of those working to undermine the American system of government and the American way of life….

Is Voter Fraud Real?

A look at California’s illegal voter-registration problem

Ever since the 2016 presidential elections, the topic of voter fraud has gained more attention.

This was especially so following President Donald Trump’s statement that if it weren’t for illegal voting, he would have won the popular vote, in addition to the Electoral College count.

Trump won the election with 304 electoral votes to Clinton’s 227. Clinton won the popular vote, however, by 2.8 million votes–or 65,853,516 votes to 62,984,825 for Trump. But if we look closer at the numbers, though, some interesting information emerges.

Clinton’s margin of victory in California was 4.3 million votes, or 61.7 percent. This number dramatically exceeded the 53.5 percent margin in her other winning states. She received a total of 8,753,788 votes from California—nearly double the total of Trump’s 4,483,810 votes….

Mueller Ready To Deliver Key Findings In His Trump Probe, Sources Say

  • Rosenstein is pressing Mueller to wrap it up, official says
  • Next steps expected to occur after November midterm elections

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is expected to issue findings on core aspects of his Russia probe soon after the November midterm elections as he faces intensifying pressure to produce more indictments or shut down his investigation, according to two U.S. officials.

Specifically, Mueller is close to rendering judgment on two of the most explosive aspects of his inquiry: whether there were clear incidents of collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, and whether the president took any actions that constitute obstruction of justice, according to one of the officials, who asked not to be identified speaking about the investigation.

That doesn’t necessarily mean Mueller’s findings would be made public if he doesn’t secure unsealed indictments. The regulations governing Mueller’s probe stipulate that he can present his findings only to his boss, who is currently Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The regulations give a special counsel’s supervisor some discretion in deciding what is relayed to Congress and what is publicly released….
