A Top FBI Lawyer Is Allegedly Under An Investigation For Leaking Classified Information To The Media

FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.

FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said the bureau would not comment on Baker and would not confirm or deny any investigation.

This comes as Department of Justice Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he would soon be making an announcement regarding the progress of leak investigations. A DOJ official declined to comment on Circa’s inquiry into Baker but did say, the planned announcement by Sessions is part of the overall “stepped up efforts on leak investigations.”

Scaramucci Terminates Suspected Leaker Michael Short From White House

Suspected leaker Michael Short has been terminated from the White House communications office, Breitbart News can confirm.

Short, an ally of White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and now former Press Secretary Sean Spicer—who resigned last week—was terminated on Tuesday by new White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Politico’s Tara Palmeri was the first to report the news.

“Newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said on Tuesday that he plans to dismiss assistant press secretary Michael Short,” Palmeri wrote on Tuesday morning. “It would be Scaramucci’s first step toward shaking up the communications shop, which has been dominated by former Republican National Committee staffers loyal to White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, a former RNC chairman.”

“Lead Went Dead” After 2015 NY Times Story Leaked Intelligence Information

Speaking at the Aspen Security Forum, Gen. Tony Thomas said, “There’s a great need to inform the American public about what we’re up to. There’s also great need to recognize things that will absolutely undercut our ability to do our job.”

Thomas, who heads the Special Operations Command, was speaking about ISIS in Iraq and Syria during a Q and A session moderated by Fox News’ Catherine Herridge.ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi’s network has been “dismantled,” Thomas said, but leaked information in 2015 compromised a lead to al Baghdadi himself.

“I mean everyone who worked for him initially is dead or gone. Everybody who stepped to the plate the next time [is] dead or gone. Down through a network where we have killed, in a conservative estimate, 60,000 to 70,000 of his followers, his army.”

NSA Leak: Sessions Reportedly Discussed Trump Campaign With Former Russian Ambassador

The Washington Post just made Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s rotten week even worse.

In what appears to be yet another leaked NSA intercept, WaPo reports citing ‘current and former American officials’, that Sergey Kislyak, the now infamous former Russian ambassador to the US, told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters – including policy issues important to Moscow – with Sessions during the 2016 presidential race. If accurate, the report would amount to yet another straw on the camel’s back of Sessions’ relationship with the former ambassador – who has been at the center of many of the US media’s stories alleging collusion between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.

Does National Security Mean Anything To Deep-State Leakers Sabotaging Trump?

Those in our government’s three-letter and federal agencies who are regularly leaking to the media in an effort to undermine President Trump and cripple his administration are now outraged that the White House is trying to stop their criminal behavior.

As a recent headline in the left-of-center Politico just declared: “Trump’s Leaks Crackdown Sends Chills through National Security World.”

It should.

The subheadline further underscores the insane new reality of those who leak for political or personal reasons.  The headline reads:

“Agency officials say measures have been taken to isolate leakers, creating a culture of fear.”

Top Lawmaker Demands Investigation Into Comey, Former Obama Officials For Leaks Of Classified Intel

Rep. DeSantis calls for purge of Obama holdovers

The chairman of the House National Security Subcommittee is calling on the Department of Justice to launch a formal investigation into former FBI Director James Comey’s alleged leak of classified information, according to an exclusive interview with the Washington Free Beacon in which the lawmaker also called on the Trump administration to purge all former Obama administration holdovers from government.

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and chair of its National Security subcommittee, is urging Attorney General Jeff Sessions to launch a full scale investigation into Comey’s handling of a series of potentially classified memos that were leaked to the press earlier this year.

Comey admitted in testimony before Congress that he leaked these memos in order to spur an investigation into the Trump administration’s alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 campaign. Reports alleging these memos contained classified information has riled congressional Republicans and spurred new calls for an investigation into Comey.

WSJ Columnist: There’s A D.C. Leak Crew That’s Trying To Take Out Trump

If there’s one thing we know about the Trump administration, besides the Russian collusion clown show that simply will not pack up and go, it’s that it’s leaking like a busted pipe. Seriously, we got more leaks than the Iraqi Navy with this White House. Some of it is staff-related, but the more damning are disclosures of classified information, which are not media speculation; it’s a fact.

In February, Glenn Greenwald discussed these leaks by the so-called Deep State, a collection of career government employees, whose actions are just as troubling as those committed by President Trump. I don’t necessarily agree that Trump is dangerous, but Greenwald is not a conservative. He co-edits a site called The Intercept, which is a sort of safe drop-off zone for leakers. At the same time, Greenwald knows that there’s a difference between leaking information that exposes government behaving badly, and leaks that are meant to undercut a governing administration because some people don’t like how the 2016 election turned out.
