Why The Left Protects Islam

Richard Dawkins is no friend to conservatives. The atheist author has spent much of his life deriding Judaism and Christianity. He once stated, “An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf.” Dawkins says that even moderate religious people “make the world safe for extremists.” He’s far to the left on politics: He’s pro-abortion rights, and a supporter of the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats in Britain.

But he’s also smart enough to recognize that radical Islam is a greater threat to human life than Christianity or Judaism. He explains: “I have criticised the appalling misogyny and homophobia of Islam, I have criticised the murdering of apostates for no crime other than their disbelief. … Muslims themselves are the prime victims of the oppressive cruelties of Islamism.”

Such language makes him a pariah among leftists.

Is Trump Backing A Secret Muslim Coalition Against Iran? Ask Sudan.

President Trump’s trip to Saudi Arabia in mid-May appears to have been far more consequential than first reported. During his speech at the Gulf Cooperation Council on May 21, in Riyadh, the president strengthened the strategic U.S.-Saudi relationship, reasserting America’s alignment with Sunni allies and Gulf States in the wake of the previous administration’s rapprochement with Iran.

Trump’s tough talk on Iran was music to King Salman’s ears. Since the signing of the JCPOA, informally known as the Iran nuclear deal, the Saudis have raised the alarm bell about America’s shifting loyalties toward Tehran and its Shiite affiliates. In response, the Saudi’s have created stronger partnerships with not just Sunni states within their orbit of influence, but Israel, forming a de facto anti-Iran coalition.

Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Think Christians Are Fit For Public Office

During a Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Sen. Bernie Sanders tried to impose an unconstitutional religious test, calling Christianity ‘hateful.’

While the nation’s capital was twittering with excitement on Wednesday about former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, something far more outrageous was underway in another Senate hearing: Sen. Bernie Sanders, in a blatant violation of Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, was applying a religious test for an office of public trust.

Specifically, Sanders doesn’t think Christians are fit to serve in government because they’re bigots. Basic Christian theology, in Sanders’s view, “is indefensible, it is hateful, it is Islamophobic, and it is an insult to over a billion Muslims throughout the world.”

Here’s what happened. During a confirmation hearing for Russell Vought, President Trump’s nominee for deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, Sanders expressed his indignation at an article Vought had written in January 2016 about a controversy that erupted at Vought’s alma mater, Wheaton College. A political science professor, Larycia Hawkins, had published a Facebook post announcing her intention to wear a hijab in solidarity with Muslims and suggesting that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.
